More States Consider Ads on School Buses

Here's another post relevant to the theme of advertising and kids.

Did you know that nine states currently allow advertising on the exterior of school buses, and several more allow it inside buses? Other states are considering overturning their laws that ban the practice. Some states are even considering laws that provide for no ad regulation. So ads promoting junk food, alcohol, cigarettes, sexualized or violent media could be allowed!

Public schools have been unfortunately affected by the poor economy, but there has to be other ways to solve budget issues. If you live in the states that are considering laws allowing ads on buses (CA, FL, IN, KY, MO, NY, RI, WA), please see Campaign For a Commercial-Free Childhood for information on how you can take action to fight them.
